Microsoft, which owns Minecraft, gave a handful of gamers a "golden ticket" to try out its new augmented reality device Hololens.



The company is developing a Minecraft-compatible version. It allows gamers the ability to project their creations onto almost any flat surface, in 3D.



Callum Ward, who tested the device on Saturday, said that it was more difficult than a console.



Toby, his brother agreed it took some getting used too, but he was a fan of the "cool features" that were added to the game. He praised the ability to zap players with lightning strikes.



Minecon 2015 set a world record in terms of the number sold tickets for an event that is focused on one game.
