Student Is In Jail After Posing As A Bombmaking Manual As Minecraft Guide

A teenager from South East London has been detained for sharing a bomb-making guide online which he disguised as a guide to the well-known video game Minecraft.



Connor Burke, 19, a student at London's University and a member of the London University, shared the instruction manual on Telegram with an audience of approximately 12,000 users. books contained information about how to make the improvised explosive device (IEDs).



After securing his social media accounts The police were able to arrest Burke at his home for his family in Bexleyheath and discovered additional documents relating to terrorists on his electronic devices, Woolwich Crown Court heard.



A search of his room also revealed a copy of Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf and The Anarchist Cookbook that gave tips for building explosives, the court was told.



In a hearing in July 2021 He pleaded guilty to disseminating terrorist publications and to four counts of possessing an item that could be of use for someone planning or committing the terrorist act.



He was sentenced by Woolwich Crown Court for a total of 42-months in prison and 12 months of licence.
